Melbourne female fronted alternative rock act, Bellusira, have already impressed all with their mighty debut album, Connection, released in June 2013 to rave reviews. Now the next step in their surge towards stardom is about to arrive. Filmed in an abandoned church, and surprisingly featuring a large troop of “young at heart” 70+ year old’s from the Windsor Seniors Dance Club, the film clip to the album’s first single, ‘Cachango’, is about to be unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.
The band and crew spent several weeks with the seniors in the lead-up to the shoot, bringing them food, building up trust and respect, until the people felt they were ready to rock out with the band.
Featuring world class production and special effects, the clip is also very funny and highly entertaining. Unlike anything ever produced by an Australian independent band, it literally has to be seen to be believed with scenes such as singer Crystal Ignite crowd surfing with the seniors, some as mature as 93 years of age – jumping and rocking out and even stripping off the shirt of the guitarist.
