American synthwave band The Midnight will make their return to Australia in February/March 2024, setting stages on fire with headline performances in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

Fri 01 Mar 2024 – Princess Theatre, Brisbane
Sat 02 Mar 2024 – Forum, Melbourne
From their synth-heavy beginnings to arena rock chords and infectious pop hooks, The Midnight’s musical journey is one fuelled by insatiable curiosity. The duo lives at the intersection of varying paths, driven by the friction that fires when Southern-born singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle’s all-American dreamer tales meld with Danish-bred drummer and producer Tim McEwan’s cinematic soundscapes. Together, they form something deeper than house, vibier than pop, and altogether more exciting than the sum of its parts.
The fan favourite track ‘WeMoveForward’ from their 2014 debut EP Days of Thunder, was created during their very first encounter. The single’s euphoric rhythms, bittersweet synths and Lyle’s romantic lyricism lay the foundation for The Midnight’s signature style, a theme that continued all the way into their latest album Heroes.
Infused with dramatic nostalgic streaks, The Midnight’s catalogue weaves its way from their debut LP Endless Summer, with its retro-futuristic feel, to the introspective reflections found in their follow-up record Kids. As they delved deeper into their emotions with the release of their fourth album, Monsters in 2020, their sound expanded and became more vibrant, reaching the Top 30 on the Australian pop charts and No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
Created during the isolation of the COVID quarantine, their most recent release Heroes tackled the issue of loneliness by inviting the whole world to dance under one roof, celebrating shared human connection. Infused with slivers of Springsteen, The Police, AC/DC and an electrifying arena rock spirit, Heroes weaves together a fusion of sexy-but-sensitive sing-alongs made to be belted by a room full of music lovers.
With the new album, the duo has hit new heights on stage, moving on from club rooms to selling out iconic venues such as London’s Brixton Academy. They have also expanded their live performance by welcoming Lelia Broussard on bass, Royce Whittaker on guitar, and Justin Klunk on saxophone and synth.
The Midnight are ready to unleash their live set for fans around Australia next February/March!
