[News] SEA GIRLS SHARE NEW SINGLE + ANNOUNCE FIRST EVER AUSTRALIAN TOUR

London indie rock band Sea Girls share new single ‘Young Strangers’, taken from their forthcoming third album, which will be released next year on their own label Alt. Records. Alongside this the band announce their first ever Australian tour taking place this coming January 2024. The highly revered band will bring their incredible live show to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane in January 2024 with an arsenal of hits and some new material.

Wednesday 24 January | Oxford Arts Factory, Sydney
Thursday 25 January | Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Saturday 27 January | Vintage Vibes, Adelaide
Sunday 28 January | The Zoo, Brisbane

Their new single, ‘Young Strangers’ is out today and shows off the bands’ innate melodic abilities, creating expansive and intelligent indie pop with an effortless feel. It’s authentic and sincere, too, tapping into the themes of their new album of moving from dark into light. Frontman Henry Camamile talks about the track, “‘Young Strangers’ is about seeing the similarities between two people who have just met. They get talking about their lives, about how they want to prove themselves and find purpose with a desperate need to get out of life’s daily rut. Never met before they realise they’re navigating the same feelings in the world and so are not young strangers anymore.”

The track was written with Kid Harpoon, who produced/co-wrote Harry Styles’ Grammy-winning Harry’s House album whilst previously working with Miley Cyrus, Haim and Florence & The Machine. On writing the song with Kid Harpoon in LA, Henry says, “It was like writing with an old mate; he had the same enthusiasm and energy as myself.

‘Young Strangers’ follows recent single ‘Weekends & Workdays’ which was the first track from this now creatively rejuvenated band operating at full throttle. The track has been supported across radio by Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo and John Kennedy. It was made Tune Of The Week at BBC Radio 1 and follows the tremendous support the band have always had at the station. With multiple Hottest Records over the course of the Sea Girls’ career, it highlights the broad appeal of this thoroughly modern band.

With ‘Weekends & Workdays’ and ‘Young Strangers’ Sea Girls are setting up the release of album number three, one which promises to be a true artistic statement. The record will look at the personal and the universal, and aims to make sense of the world and move forward with positivity. Their strongest work to date, this massive joyous record promises to shine a light throughout 2024.

It’s finally Australia’s turn to witness Sea Girls in their element as they pack a punch with tightly honed tunes, designed to be chanted back by eager audiences. The quartet will be visiting all major states, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.
