“We cannot wait to get on the road with TJ’s, it’s been a long time coming and now it’s finally happening. We are grabbing the sleeping bags and going regional, this tour is going to be in-tents but painless” – Between You & Me
Forming in 2018 as literal teenagers, Teenage Joans, aka Cahli Blakers and Tahlia Borg, would go on to nab the triple j Unearthed High crown in 2020 while also insatiably charming audiences around the country over the years with their self-professed “juice-box punk-pop” sonic stylings. Having previously shared stages with the likes of Foo Fighters, Amy Shark, Violent Soho, Ball Park Music, The Chats and many more, the duo have also continued to establish themselves as firm festival faves, with appearances at Spin Off, Yours & Ours, UNIFY Gathering and beyond.
From their debut EP, 2021’s Taste Of Me which saw the group snag seven South Australian Music Awards, through to their acclaimed 2023 debut full length album, The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest, which was triple j’s feature album and performed a cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ in March for triple j Like A Version to recently teaming up with Frank Turner on ‘Girl from the Record Shop’. Teenage Joans consistently weave musical magic via their engaging indie-pop-punk creations and compelling live performances.
Evolving from YouTube acoustic covers to cementing their place as rising stars in the Australian alternative scene, Between You & Me blend influences that span blink-182, Foo Fighters, Hanson and many more. Armed an inescapable zest that has seen the group tour with the likes of You Me At Six, Knuckle Puck, State Champs and Slowly Slowly, Between You & Me wield pop punk and pop-inflused alt rock, resulting in endlessly infectious songs that incite joy time and time again.
Releasing their latest EP, SH!T YEAH, earlier this year, Between You & Me are also in command of two studio albums, 2018’s Everything Is Temporary and 2021’s Armageddon, as well as their 2016 debut EP Paper Thin. Boasting loads of riffs and relatability, SH!T YEAH showcases the group firmly in command of their sonic identity, with their latest material also begging to be heard in a live setting.
