Continuing to rise from the ashes of Aussie legends Dungeon, Lord are a likeable lot, imparted with the charm of a front man who’s name Lord Tim was bestowed while working at a roller skating rink in Broken Hill. They play a thrashing brand of power metal led by powerful solos (literally, check the video for ‘Because We Can’) and melodic choruses. The song writing is solid and the guitar playing is smoking hot, backed by a tight band propelled on double kick drums. The 80’s tinged title track has soaring vocals and a great stuttering guitar line, while ‘2D Person In A 2D World’ boasts a furious intro coloured with screaming whammy bar action. There’s a lot here that will transfer well to the infamously good fun live show, great stuff.
