Before there was Dorothy and Toto, before they landed a house on the wicked witch and before she tapped her heels and got the hell home, there was a powerful wizard, who he himself stumbled upon the Land of Oz.
That wizard was director Sam Raimi, who offers quite the 3D experience as he brings the Land of Oz to life in this outstanding animation. Colourful, funny, fast moving and fun, The Great and Powerful Oz is the kind of film you tell your friends to go and watch as you tag along for the second time.
Maybe nostalgia is clouding my judgement. Maybe it’s the flying monkeys. Or maybe it’s James Franco. Either way, for those reasons AND the talent that this outstanding cast of wonderful talents brings as they own their roles is reason enough to go and see it.
