Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Wednesday March 9, 2016 :
Jason Aldean was in town with Florida Georgia Line, so I threw my boots on and joined the crowd at Hordern Pavilion for what ended up being a great night.
Fresh off their festival gig in QLD at CMC Rocks, the two acts were on point and were clearly stoked and surprised about the reaction from Australian crowds. Both acts haven’t visited Australia before, but if you were to take their words as gospel they will be back in the not too distant future.
The night opened up with Florida Georgia Line who were on point with their pop-country fusion. They played their singles from both of their albums including ‘Dirt’, ‘Cruise’, ‘Sippin’ on Fire’ and of course ‘This is How We Roll’ (unfortunately Luke Bryan was absent, perhaps next time?).
The veteran country star Jason Aldean followed up the astounding support with a catalogue of classics including ‘Tonight Looks Good On You’, ‘Tattoos on this Town’, ‘Gonna Know We’re Here’, ‘Night Train’ and ‘She’s Country’.
Overall, the night was faultless. The lighting was brilliant. The sound was fantastic. And both artists were in top form.
