Tasmania’s A festival called PANAMA today announces the line-up for its 7th annual event, continuing to develop its reputation as an enigmatic festival experience with a deep program of artists from across the musical spectrum. The intimate camping festival takes place in the heart of Tasmania’s pristine North Eastern forest ranges on March 6th, 7th and 8th.

For the 2020 event, world beaters Julia Jacklin and Aldous Harding top the bill, with both songwriters bringing their critically acclaimed new albums and full-band sets to the main stage.
The one and only Evelyn Champagne King will perform a set of disco classics with Melbourne’s own Mondo Freaks as her backing band. Pitchfork darling Kevin Morby will bring his rich Americana songbook of catchy dense lyricism, and hard-edged English electronic punk duo Sleaford Mods will also stop by for a geez at the wallabies. Supergroup Dyson Stringer Cloher will take on the event’s renowned speakeasy – playing a set stripped back and under the stars.

Dancefloor slayers Haiku Hands, rising hip hop force Genesis Owusu, Sudanese royalty Gordon Koang, Japanese Psych troupe Kikagaku Moyo, New Zealand punk rockers Miss June, analogue groove masters Mildlife, as well as Mongolian throat singing from HORSE&WOOD, and impeccable neo-soul from Tiana Khasi make the event hard to pigeon hole.
The only thing harder in fact, is getting a ticket. The event will release just 1500 tickets to its mailing list on Saturday November 9th, and it’s safe to say they won’t last long.
The festival will also see the music program complemented by a screening of the documentary Her Sound, Her Story as well as a panel discussion led by its director Claudia Sangiorgi Dallimore.
The Kahlo Curie Cabaret of Clowns Chaos and Curiosity will take over the Bedouin Club each night and the GREAT PANAMA CLOTHES SWAP returns to the lakeside for a chance to pick up some fresh threads.
All this from the festival without litter, cash, or single-use cups set in the forested hills of Northeast Tasmania.
