One of the most exciting and endearing Australian indie-rock outfits, Bad Pony, have just unveiled tour dates and a new single ‘Sideways’ – a DIY self-produced effort recorded at guitarist Cron Van Niekerk’s home studio.
Filled with infectious hooks from start-to-finish, ‘Sideways’ is a fun and fey indie-pop cut that draws inspiration from Two Door Cinema Club, Phoenix and Local Natives, whilst still retaining it’s own unique flavour; further confirming the Sydney-based group’s ability to effortlessly deliver outstanding eclectic tracks.
Previous singles ‘Zombie’, ‘Down To You’ and ‘Michael Moore’ all received strong support online and from Australian radio with triple j and a slew of community stations embracing the songs with regular play and rave reviews.
In the last twelve-months the band has heavily traversed the countryside performing at boutique events Marmalade Skies Festival (NSW) and Red Deer Festival (QLD), and have now announced their biggest run to date with twenty-three shows booked across TAS, NSW, QLD, VIC and ACT.
An accompanying music video for ‘Sideways’ will be revealed in the coming weeks.
