Ben Leece has spent the last 12 months touring this wide brown land on the back of his debut album, No Wonder The World Is Exhausted. Together with his band, Left Of The Dial, he’s been wowing them in the aisles every step of the way. It’s a journey that’s seen him go from “you gotta check this guy out” to being amongst the cream of the crop of Australian alternative country music artists. The journey has only just begun. Fans can expect a new single from Ben later this year.
Plucked from obscurity by Paul Kelly at age 15 to appear on the ARIA Award-winning Lantana Soundtrack, before recording two critically acclaimed alt-country albums and scoring a couple of Golden Guitar nominations along the way, Katie Brianna is an artist in the process of re-inventing herself. Her forthcoming album has a spectrum that ranges from up-tempo Indie Pop to dirty, smoke-filled rock. We already know that she has the voice of an angel, now the power of her song writing will finally be on show.
Peta Caswell has been quietly making a name for herself with her band The Lost Cause, after releasing their debut EP in May. The group’s soulful alternative rock sound perfectly complements one of the most powerful and distinctive voices that you will ever have the privilege of hearing. And once you hear her songs, you’ll realise that talent definitely runs deep in the family. Peta is the niece of legendary Australian songwriter and singer, Allan Caswell.
