andrew tuttsgarden-3

Brisbane’s Andrew Tuttle creates music and sounds that explore the relationship between instrumentation, structure and genre within electronics and acoustics.

Tuttle, usually solo, although occasionally in semi-regular and ad-hoc collaboration, creates a synthesis of electronic/acoustic instrumentation and genre, and improvisation/composition performed on computer, banjo, electronics, synthesiser, organ, acoustic guitar, etc.

Under his own name, solo and in collaboration, Tuttle has performed at venues and festivals including Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane), Melbourne International Jazz Festival (Melbourne), Judith Wright Centre (Brisbane), and Make It Up Club (Melbourne).

The debut Andrew Tuttle recordings, a five track EP titled 4064, is now available as a free download/limited edition bespoke CDR via http://andrewtuttle.bandcamp.com/

Prior to 2013, Tuttle primarily recorded and performed under the moniker Anonymeye, releasing three albums, appearing on two dozen other recorded releases, and performing over 100 times in Australasia and Europe.

COLLECTOR (Newcastle): https://soundcloud.com/eternalsolitude/collector-fourth-stage

Collector, the new solo synth project of Newcastle’s Jason Campbell who previously made music as Stitched Vision, outputting small-run releases via his tape label Eternal Solitude. As Collector, Jason explores a new sonic terrain of pulsing rhythms and drenched soundscapes.

LACM is the long-gestated solo project of Jarrod Skene, the man responsible for the art and funding of excellent Newcastle imprint, Mazurka Editions. The untitled A-side consists of what appears to be a looped guitar recording unevenly sped with encroaching feedback ducking in and out before becoming stripped to pure buzz and rhythmic crunch. The untitled B-side is much more sparse, all dusty loops that corrode as they revolve, possibly doing damage to the heads of your tape deck in the process of playback. This, the first release for LACM, is a modern benchmark of what is going on in the steel city and of the remarkably unique sounds being emitted there.
