Caravãna Sun returns to the airwaves/blogosphere with the new single ‘Open Up’. This follow’s the recent airplay success of the previous single ‘Eye Of The Storm’, which picked up radio rotation across the nation.
‘Open Up’ will set up the forthcoming LP Guerrilla Club which will be released on September 2nd. Guerrilla Club will be the Sydneysiders third album and most stylistically and sonically ambitious.
“‘Open Up’ is a song about longing for connection to country and opening up to Indigenous culture. This song washed upon the shores of our creative consciences whilst in Western Australia and continued to find its stride on stages around the world. While our beliefs and respect for Australia’s Indigenous people and culture grew, so did the resonance of this song among our audience. Stepping over boundaries and surpassing all prejudice, before we knew it, a voice was found for a call to action as ‘Open Up’ gave us reason to fearlessly create.” – Ant Beard – Vocals/Bass Guitar
Caravãna Sun is currently touring Europe on their fifth and biggest tour to date including festivals such as Boomtown Fair, Boardmasters Festival, Electric Beach Festival, Zandstock Festival Netherlands. Click here for the Euro dates. Including the 5 Euro tours the band have played over 500 gigs since forming in 2009. This is the kind of serious work ethic that has made Caravãna Sun such a deadly live experience.
Caravãna Sun recorded Guerrilla Club in Fremantle, WA with Joel Quartermain (Meg Mac/Eskimo Joe) at the helm. Quartermain and Caravãna Sun focused on producing a contemporary sound to enhance their high energy surf/dub/rock fusion. The new album was born out of the band’s connection to their home, land and sea.
Their endless and unconventional touring circuit to rural communities has directly shaped the foundations of the new record.
