‘Charlie’ is a song about connections and establishing relationships with those around us. It is also a song that encourages the listener to be taking care of themselves too – we can only be our best selves to those in our lives if we’re being the best we can be to ourselves too.
Born out of a guitar riff created while on the road in Europe, then fleshed out over sessions of recording in the Blue Mountains, ‘Charlie’ is Caravãna Sun at their dynamic best. A personal story for songwriter Ant Beard, the single is a call for support and offering hope to those who might be doing it tough. “This song is about reaching out, being open and connecting to people. It’s about knowing that even in your darkest times, people are there to support and love you. At times, these heavy places can seem so lonely and all it takes is an honest conversation to get you out. A beer with a mate, a walk with a friend, or a simple message – you’re not alone.” Caravãna Sun
