Crywank, the UK’s biggest anti-folk punk band, are back for one last bittersweet trip across Australia and New Zealand. Since their last tours in 2017 (AU) & 2019 (AU + NZ), the band has had a world tour stopped by a pandemic, broken up, reformed with a new member (frequent collaborator Guard Petal has joined Crywank on bass), and (unofficially) broken a world record (most cities performed in a day). Now, after over a decade of crafting their unique blend of raw, heartfelt, and often darkly-humorous songs, Crywank are finally returning to Oceania – for this rare opportunity to see them live.
In addition to the previously announced Australian dates, Crywank has added Newcastle, Adelaide, Perth, Tasmania and two special shows in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington). This tour promises to be a poignant celebration of their legacy, blending fan favourites with deep cuts from their extensive discography. They’ll also be joined by a killer stack of supports across the country from varying genres like Sydney’s Society Of Cutting Up Men, Melbourne’s Latibulate, Brisbane’s fabulous Worm Girlz, Canada’s Guard Petal and many more.
As always, Crywank’s music is 80% sad – but their live performances offer a cathartic experience like no other. Fans are encouraged to come prepared to cry, but (in true Crywank style) reminded that physical wanking is strictly off-limits.
