Following on from their initial 12-act announcement in June, which included the likes of Archie Roach, Tami Neilson (NZ), Emily Wurramara, Hannah Aldridge (US) & The Kill Devil Hills, the team behind Australia’s cosmic country weekender, Dashville Skyline is pleased to reveal the full 40 artist line-up for this year’s 3 day boutique long weekend escape.
Dashville Skyline
Dashville, Hunter Valley
Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6 2019
The mighty country rock band WAGONS returns to Dashville Skyline, having played the inaugural event in 2015. With enigmatic singer Henry Wagons riding shotgun after 20 years, the group is set to release their most cinematic record to date – Songs from the Aftermath – on August 8.
The remarkable trajectory of WILLIAM CRIGHTON continues in 2019 after gracing some of the biggest festival stages here in Australia and internationally. He recently toured England, with a stop over in Canada to play Winnipeg Folk Festival. A purveyor of dark and searing Australiana, he’s a favourite of the Dashville audience and is very much a part of Dashville’s woolen gossamer fabric.
We are very excited to introduce a phenomenal new talent to Australian shores – Irish singer-songwriter AMY MONTGOMERY. With a Bohemian aesthetic and a voice that channels Janis Joplin and Grace Slick, Montgomery is set to mesmerise the Skyline faithful.
Other acts joining the Dashville Skyline 2019 bill include the return of alt-country juggernaut ANDY GOLLEDGE, Americana songstress FREYA JOSEPHINE HOLLICK, an encore performance by Melbourne honky tonkers JAMES ELLIS & THE JEALOUS GUYS, the three-piece comprising Brendan Gallagher (Karma County), Bow Campbell (Front End Loader) and Bernie Hayes DEAD MARINES, rockers featuring Jeff Lang and Van Walker HEARTBROKERS, beautiful singer-songwriter GRETTA ZILLER, imaginative songsmith SEAN McMAHON, the hook-laden rock of STEVE LANE AND THE AUTOCRATS, country purist JAMES THOMSON, the emotionally wrought folk-rock of LINCOLN MACKINNON & THE WRECKING TRAIN, acclaimed songwriter and chanteuse JACKIE MARSHALL, the new project from Snowdroppers frontman Johnny Wishbone JD & THE HUNGER MEN, country songstress JEN MIZE, balladeer PADDY McHUGH, acoustic folk sweethearts THE WEEPING WILLOWS, west coast ‘70s throwbacks MAGPIE DIARIES, singer-songwriter M.E. BAIRD, Darwin folk outlaws DAVE GARNHAM & THE REASONS TO LIVE, cowboy outfit JIMMY WILLING & THE REAL GONE HICK-UPS, rising Adelaide songwriter ALANA JAGT, local supreme cats CARL THE BARTENDER and NICHOLAS CONNORS and well self-respected Hunter super-group Dashville Progress Society will pay tribute to the soundtracks of Quentin Tarantino’s movies with a special DASHVILLE DOES TARANTINO.
