[News] DEAD WI†CH RELEASE NEW SINGLE “SATURN’S RETURN” + ANNOUNCE BIGGEST EAST COAST TOUR TO DATE

Sydney psych-rock five piece Dead Wi†ch today release their new single ‘Saturn’s Return’ – the moody follow up to their Summer smasher ‘Sunshine’ released earlier this year.

On ‘Saturn’s Return’, the band nods to greats like Led Zeppelin and Stevie Nicks in a winding, ’70s inspired psych-rock burner. The song speaks to the astrological rite of passage experienced when Saturn returns to the same place in the sky it was when we were born. Emotional and heavy-hitting, Saturn’s Return harnesses the whirlwind of heartbreak through infectious rhythmic guitar and monumental builds.

“’Saturn’s Return’ is about standing in your power through your hardest struggles, calling on the planets to understand what exactly the hell is going on – and the realisation that the only way out is through.” Jaimee Taylor-Nielsen, lead singer/songwriter

Booming, epic drums, wailing stairway guitars and a more grounded vocal than we’ve heard from the band previously, ‘Saturn’s Return’ is a song that sees Dead Witch stepping into their power and taking bigger swings on arrangement and production.

I started mucking around with Saturn’s Return one night during lockdown. I really wanted the song to tell a story through a three act structure, and for the listener to feel like their hand was being held through all the messy stages of a breakup. From the moments of despair, to picking up the pieces, and then that moment of triumph when you finally can move on. The song is a testament to the witchy concoction that is a bit of heartbreak, three quarters of a bottle of red wine, and too much time spent listening to Led Zeppelin.” Alexandra Cameron, lead guitarist

After receiving overwhelming support from the likes of triple j, triple j unearthed, FBi Radio, 2SER, RTR, PBS and 4ZZZ back in January for their single ‘Sunshine’, the horizon looks bright for Dead Witch as the band gear up for their biggest east coast tour to date to celebrate this epic release.
