Today Dune Rats release single ‘Rubber Arm’ and announce their first Australian headline shows for 2019. Premiered by triple j on Goodnights with Bridget Hustwaite, ‘Rubber Arm’ sees the quintessential Dune Rats stoner pop garage sound morph with 90’s fuzz stylings fused with Weezer and Dude, Where’s My Car?
Where first single ‘No Plans’ is about “throwing three shits at the wind and seeing what sticks,” the song ‘Rubber Arm’ is about getting steered in the best direction and never missing out. The band say “it’s like going to the pub for one drink and ending up in Vegas with your undies on your head and a fresh Nickelback tattoo. It’s always better to let your rubber arm bend!”
In support of the new single Dune Rats have announced their first headline Australian shows for the year, playing in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in September with mates West Thebarton and Miss June.
‘Rubber Arm’ and ‘No Plans’ are the first taste of new music from the Brisbane band since their breakthrough 2017 record The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit. The album catapulted the band to the next level, dominating the ARIA Charts and triple j’s Hottest 100 in 2016 and 2017, receive ARIA and APRA nominations, and take their frenetic live show on a sold out headline tour and headline performances at Splendour In The Grass, Falls, Laneway Festival, Spilt Milk and more.
Now Dune Rats are preparing for a big run of shows across the US, Canada, the UK and Europe.
