Dustin Tebbutt is thrilled to announce a national tour in support of his forthcoming album, First Light – available for pre-order from today. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday June 21.
Special guests on the tour will be Robbie Miller and Woodes. Dates and venues are listed below.
“I really can’t wait to share these songs with people live”, says Dustin. “I think when I first started out, I took for granted how special playing live music can be. I was so used to working in the studio that I felt really exposed and out of my depth on stage. This time around, I’ve got an awesome band behind me, and I’ve been working hard to translate these new tunes onto the stage really convincingly. Most of all, I want these shows to be fun! There will still be plenty of quiet, intimate moments but I’ve also been writing with a more energetic and lighthearted energy lately which I think should carry through the whole show.”
A video for “First Light” was also unveiled today and can be viewed here. The clip was created by award winning Melbourne director Christopher Frey and was shot in the beautiful countryside surrounding Daylesford in regional Victoria.
The First Light Album Tour will begin in Byron Bay on August 4 – the eve of album release.
While his breakthrough song ‘The Breach’ was inspired by a painful breakup, the forthcoming LP explores the opposite end of a relationship – it’s all about falling in love, then getting up and seeing the world in a whole new way.
“The simple story? I met a girl and over time she unlocked song after song until she’d inspired a whole album”, Dustin explains.
