ELECTRIC FIELDS, the potent musical project of multi-talented artist and performer Zaachariaha Fielding, and producer-composer Michael Ross today share new single ‘Gold Energy’. The kinetic future soul duo, who embrace their queerness and share Zaachariaha’s Anangu languages, are exploring an evolving sonic shift on the ebullient new single. Fielding sings “Kurunpa nganampa liprulala” in Anangu language during the pre-chorus, which translates to “Adjust your spirit, correct your energy”. This contentment takes commitment: it’s about fierce optimism.
Of the release, Fielding shares: “‘Gold Energy’ is about the shared spirit between people or animals or any living thing. When you receive that gold energy, you can sit with it and collect its goodness.” Ross adds: “Whenever Z and I write a song, we always have an idea rooted in philosophy. This song is about stadium-level joy, that feeling in the best times of life: gold energy.”
Electric Fields also announce news of their expanded team today, including a global signing to Warner Music Australia and a new management partnership between longterm manager Diana Sautelle and Wonderlick Entertainment.
Finally, the band are excited to share details of their national Gold Energy Tour. The forthcoming run will take in venues across Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Fremantle and Adelaide in April and May 2022. Electric Fields will be supported by the transcendent bubblegum punk duo, Cry Club (excluding Darwin).
