UK alt-rock legend, Gaz Coombes, has added a series of headline shows to his visit down under this November and December. Heading to Australia to support fellow Brit Robbie Williams on his Australian tour, fans of UK rock will be delighted to see Gaz perform his Turn The Car Around headline shows at Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Tuesday 14 November, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Tuesday 21 November and Fremantle’s Freo. Social on Saturday 2 December.

Gaz will be joined by local artist Keli Holiday on his Sydney and Melbourne dates. One half of legendary Australian electronic duo Peking Duk, Keli Holiday never fails to bring the uplifting, high-energy tunes. Perth power pop outfit Rinehearts will open for Gaz on his Fremantle show, in duo mode.

A Mercury nominated solo performer who is also known for his work as front man of legendary Britpop band Supergrass, Gaz Coombes returns down under for the first time since 2018, when he performed sold out East Coast dates.

Renowned for quintessential anthems ‘Alright’, ‘Moving’, ‘St Petersburg’, ‘Pumping On Your Stereo’ and more, Supergrass have sold millions of albums globally, delivering “wild, witty British guitar pop, with a dash of psych and glam” (The Guardian). Since 2010, Gaz Coombes has released four solo albums, including 2015’s Matador which earned the music legend an Ivor Novello Award and Mercury nomination. Gaz’s latest album Turn The Car Around debuted at No.6 on the UK Official Album Chart, and claimed a Top 10 spot in Metacritic’s Best Reviewed Albums of 2023.

Embarking on an anticipated Supergrass reunion tour in 2020, the band performed a series of headline shows together across the UK. To commemorate their 25th Anniversary, Supergrass released live album Live on Other Planets (2020), a project consisting of songs recorded during the tour. Their final reunion show saw the band perform at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium in London, with Gaz fronting ‘supergroups’ comprising Nile Rodgers, Foo Fighters and Stewart Copeland to sing Bowie’s ‘Modern Love’ and ‘Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic’ by The Police.

No stranger to the live stage, Gaz and his band have spent most of 2023 touring the globe to rave reviews from fans and critics alike, with VBAH claiming “Coombes displays the ability to make the simplest things sound quite beautiful” and Clash Music celebrating Gaz as “a versatile artist with a relatable, captivating presence”.

With upcoming shows across Europe and the UK before he lands in Australia, fans will be thrilled to experience the incredible live spectacle that is Gaz Coombes in his headline performances this November and December.
