Aiming to carry on with the momentum created in 2015, Sydney-based indie-post-rock outfit Hedge Fund have just unveiled East Coast tour dates and premiered new single ‘Summer’s Getting Shorter’ via Indie Shuffle – Another DIY self-produced effort by vocalist Will Colvin at Free Energy Studios, Sydney.
Catching the listener off guard with its dreamy and glimmering psych-rock intro, ‘Summer’s Getting Shorter’ quickly transitions back into the progressive post-punk groove the band has become known for taking cues from the likes of their staple influences The Cure, Devo and Joy Division.
Hedge Fund’s previous singles ‘Look Who’s Back’ and ‘Boyfriend’ have received strong support via triple j, online tastemaker blogs Pilerats (AUS), The Wild Honey Pie (USA) and Happy (AUS), and national community radio stations via four-weeks of chart success on the AMRAP Metro & Regional Charts.
Coinciding with the new single release, Hedge Fund have announced NSW shows supporting Melbourne indie-rock stalwarts. Following on shortly after this the band will set out to complete seven tour dates across the East Coast performing in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Lismore, Toowoomba and Brisbane.
