That’s right guys, Newcastle’s Indian Gun have offered their new double A-side single, ‘Career Year/Underdogs’ for the price you feel that it is worth. It is available at their bandcamp site right HERE.
The double A-side was recorded after hours in music school that doubles as a small studio and was produced, recorded and mixed by the band’s guitarist Kooreil Lester. Kooreil then mixed the tracks in a caravan out the front of his house. Believe it or not, this is actually a step up in production quality for the DIY band, as their first EP, Seaworthy, was recorded in their living room but still managed to sound big and warm.
“I think Career Year is the best we’ve captured,” commented Tom Hudson (Vocals/guitar/songwriting). “That interplay between the three guitars, almost pushing each other to see how contrasting and weird we could make the guitar sounds sit together. I was hearing it as a kind of thin Graham Coxon type pop song when I finished writing it, but James (Braye, guitarist) and Kooreil added those freaky guitar parts and just gave that noisy urgency to the verses that really grabbed me when first jammed it.”
