Set to make a triumphant homecoming this Spring/Summer after what has already turned out to be a successful return to the European live circuit, beloved Melbourne four-piece KINGSWOOD announce that 2023 will now wrap up with a brand new collection of music.
The cogs of inspiration and musical spirit have continued to turn and flourish in the year that followed the release of KINGSWOOD’s impassioned fifth studio album HOME – instead of letting that momentum rest, the band have instead poured that energy back into studio sessions, creating a fitting follow up record, THE TALE OF G.C. TOWNES.
The record leans further into KINGSWOOD’s love for rich and in depth songwriting and storytelling style; expressed initially with their recent releases, ‘How Many Times’, ‘God Already Knows’ and ‘Glass Half Full’; and today, with the album’s lead single, ‘Little Red Jumpsuit’.
The release of ‘Little Red Jumpsuit’ and the news of this imminent new KINGSWOOD record comes as the band prepares to hit the road in Australia for another extensive run of shows that will take them directly into Summer 2024. The band is well-versed in traversing Australia of course, having completed their record-breaking ‘Hometowns Tour’ throughout this year, criss-crossing the breadth of the country in their purpose built bus, taking in 100+ shows.
This new run of shows will see KINGSWOOD kick things off in regional NSW this October, with a show at Everglades in Woy Woy, before continuing right around the country as headliners, as well as some select festival appearances in Adelaide (Cry Baby Fest) and Heybridge, Tasmania (Good Gumnuts Festival).
Along with these tour dates, KINGSWOOD will be launching their very own beer, KINGSWOOD LAGER. As part of the tour, fans will be able to taste this new beer and celebrate with the band. In Melbourne, there will be a special VIP launch at the Prince Of Wales in St, Kilda on November 17.

It’s not the only thing KINGSWOOD has planned for the end of the year, either. To accompany the news of more shows around the country, the group have announced the debut of their very own craft beer line, fittingly named KINGSWOOD LAGER.
With a special VIP launch for the beer slated for November 17 at the Prince Of Wales in St. Kilda, KINGSWOOD are tying together music and libations for an unforgettable combination for their fans. Limited tickets are available for the shows across the summer, with prizes and – of course – KINGSWOOD LAGER available at the shows for fans to taste and enjoy.
Says KINGSWOOD of the development of the lager, they have been proud to see the product come to life. And being able to present it to fans for the first time on this upcoming Australian tour feels like perfect timing.
“Beer has been the fuel of the Kingswood machine since the beginning, the beautiful lubrication accompanying the highs and the lows, the perfect punctuation at the end of a working day. Building a sense of community through relentless touring of this wonderful country of ours very quickly highlighted one obvious thing. Australian beer is the best beer, and we love it. To love something means you want it to be a part of your life, and quite clearly, we’re not a band that sits on the sidelines when it comes to everything we do, so naturally, we proudly present – KINGSWOOD LAGER. The gold standard in Australian beer. This is a no frills, good times lager by the people, for the people. Refreshing and crisp with a recipe perfected through 15 years of good times country rock and roll.” KINGSWOOD
This summer is going to be a celebratory one for KINGSWOOD, who have torn through this year – easily their busiest to date. Armed with their acclaimed record HOME, the band has been reconnecting with audiences around the country (and now, overseas too); a dedicated focus from KINGSWOOD to pour their hearts into ensuring their live domain remains one that is jam-packed with memories to last.
The release of HOME saw KINGSWOOD re-enter the ARIA Charts, debuting at #2 on the ARIA Australian Vinyl and #1 on the ARIA Australian Country charts – the latter of which stayed atop for an impressive 8 weeks in a row.
With their record-breaking ‘Hometowns Tour’ taking in 100+ shows right around the country, KINGSWOOD have been able to hit venues of all sizes, in locations in each corner of Australia, on their purpose-constructed tour bus ‘Peggy’. An experience that has redefined KINGSWOOD’s resolve as a touring unit, 2023 has been a transformative period for the group.
It has bred excitement for their next creative era – one that is already brewing a new batch of career-defining material, soon to be revealed.
For now though, KINGSWOOD invites fans across the country to celebrate the end of a massive year with them, raise a glass and toast new horizons filled with more music and good times to follow.
