Liz and her band will perform songs from her most recent, and critically acclaimed album, First Time Really Feeling as well as favourites from her celebrated catalogue. This will be the first time performing the record in New South Wales after several failed attempts due to you-know-what.
August Friday 12 | Mary’s Underground, Sydney NSW
August Saturday 13 | The Gal, Newcastle NSW
August Thursday 18 | Corner Hotel, Melbourne VIC
August Friday 19 | Meeniyan Town Hall VIC
August Saturday 20 | Queenscliff Town Hall VIC
They will be the only headline band shows for Stringer in 2022. “I’m feeling match fit and so pumped to finally be touring again and to be bringing these songs, with a band that I love, to audiences in my home state of Victoria and NSW”, say Liz.
Recorded in Canada, First Time Really Feeling was released through Milk! Records in 2021 and has been a defining moment in Stringer’s career. The album has been nominated for two AIR awards including Best Independent Album, APRA song of the year, Music Victoria award for best Solo Act and debuted at #14 on the ARIA charts the week of release. Wider recognition has been a welcome change for the artist long referred to as ‘underrated’ by those who knew better.
The past 6 months has seen Liz Stringer performing in the Midnight Oil band playing guitar, keyboards and backing vocals across Australia, North America and Europe for the bands final ever tour. Liz performed as guest support at several shows including the iconic Massey Hall in Toronto and Roadrunner in Boston.
For the month of July, Liz Stringer is Artist in Residence on Double J. Selecting songs around the theme of ‘Place and Home’, Liz will share music from artists that inspire her from all over of the world as well as stories of her own too.
Selling out Melbourne album launch at the Croxton Bandroom in 2021, Liz is finally able to perform the songs from the album live in Sydney and Newcastle as well as a string of shows in Victoria in Melbourne, Meeniyan and Queenscliff. The New South Wales shows will be joined by Karen Lee Andrews as special guest support, and Liv Cartledge for the Victorian shows.
