After hailing 2014 in explosive style alongside such acts as DZ Deathrays, Step-Panther and Chicks Who Love Guns, Newcastle’s MAIDS are wasting no time in bringing their scorching brand of genre-bending bass-pounding heavy rock back to the people, with a slew of (sure to be memorable for all the wrong and dirty reasons) national tour dates up their sleeves.
MAIDS spent 2013 in a tireless quest to cause a stir, making unsuspecting lovers of rock and otherwise shake it across countless stages, including (as the natural victors of the triple j Unearthed comp) Fat As Butter Festival, as well as a series of support slots for the likes of Regurgitator, Redcoats, Stonefield, The Delta Riggs, Bleeding Knees Club and Sparkadia. Their relentless debut single Mechanism kept the party going, seizing attention across the country with both hands with its thumping drive and formidable fish ninja. 2014’s gonna be huge for these Newcastle saboteurs of sensibility – get in early for the bright lights and general debauchery.
