It is with great excitement that Liberation announce the return of Sydney trio, Mansionair. Exquisite new single, ‘Easier’, is the first cut from the band’s forthcoming debut album, due for release in 2017. Mansionair will also be hitting the road for a run of single launch dates around the country in Nov/ Dec, where they’ll perform unheard material for the first time.
Written in the living room of producer/guitarist Lachlan’s house, ‘Easier’ was loosely inspired by a scene from Sofia Coppola’s seminal film, Lost In Translation.

Premiered on Sunday night on triple j, the sounds of ‘Easier’ drip delicately with a flowing energy that weaves and transitions beautifully through each moment. Soft and restrained instrumentation evolves into a gliding chorus, before imploding into a synth heavy expression of raw emotion. Yet again, this stunning piece of musicality demonstrates Mansionair’s unique song writing and incredible production.
Recorded and mixed in Sydney alongside Eric J (Chet Faker, Flume, Flight Facilities), ‘Easier’ is an insight into the new spaces the band is exploring, as they continue to push sonic boundaries. An accompanying music video will also drop soon, which was directed by the talented Matthew Thorne at Collider Films.
Ahead of the ‘Easier’ Single Launch Tour – which will see the band head to Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane to play some of their largest venues to date – Mansionair will also perform at two parties for Red Bull’s Sound Select series. After extensive runs with The Rubens, CHVRCHES and Foals, we eagerly await their headline shows back on local shores.
Since releasing the singles ‘Hold Me Down’, ‘Pick Me Up’ and ‘Speak Easy’, the steady rise of Mansionair has been one of intrigue. The three tracks have collectively accumulated a staggering 32 million streams online and were all added to high rotation on triple j. Widespread praise has rained from tastemakers NME, The Guardian, CLASH, The Line Of Best Fit, Earmilk, Pigeons and Planes and BBC Radio 1. ‘Easier’ will be released through Liberation in Australia and New Zealand, and Glassnote for the rest of the world.
