Paper Thin has announced details of their debut EP, which is set to be released through Lost Boy Records on Tuesday August 9.
The band from Newcastle, Australia formed in April of 2016; bringing together singer/songwriter Spencer Scott with members of Adeline Pines, Jen Buxton & The Slaughterhouse Five, and Crystal Cove.
Earlier this month the band put a live version of their song ‘State Of Your Life, Mate’ online, with the video amassing over 3,000 views since its release. Alongside the EP announcement today, the band have also released ‘Hotel Spencer’, which is streaming now on triple j Unearthed. This song was previously released by Spencer Scott on a Split 7” release with Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq, but has been re-imagined for Paper Thin.
“This version of ‘Hotel Spencer’ is my favourite, when we started this band I knew I wanted to take this song in and see what we could do with it. I’m so stoked with how this sounds” – Spencer Scott
Paper Thin will be launching their EP at their debut show, taking place at The Hamilton Station Hotel in Newcastle on Thursday August 11. Joining them will be local act All In A Year, Wollongong’s Jacob, Sad Grrrls Club founder Rachel Maria Cox.
Paper Thin was recorded and mixed by Geoff Mullard at RTN Studios (Like…Alaska, Jen Buxton, Conation), and Mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering. The EP will be available digitally through Bandcamp, as well as on CD and a limited run of Cassettes.
