One of the most influential and exciting live bands in modern music, Scottish pioneers Primal Scream are thrilled to announce their return to Australia in January 2025 for their first shows down under since 2018.
Responsible for one of music’s most groundbreaking albums in 1991’s Mercury prize-winning Screamadelica, the legends behind a string of hits such as ‘Movin’ on Up’, ‘Rocks’, ‘Country Girl’, ‘Loaded’, ‘Kill All Hippies’, ‘Come Together’, ‘Swastika Eyes’ and many more will return this summer for headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.

With their influence citied by Fontaines D.C. to Dua Lipa in 2024, Primal Scream return in celebration of Come Ahead – their new studio album, due for release via BMG on 8th November. Led by singles ‘Love Insurrection’ – described by MOJO as “a call for peace, love and understanding from within a funky disco fug” – and the brooding ‘Deep Dark Waters’, Come Ahead is the band’s 12th full-length record and their first new music since 2016’s Chaosmosis. 11 new songs that find the group’s principal songwriter, vocalist and frontman Bobby Gillespie preparing to release some of the most personal songwriting of his band’s career.
In October Primal Scream will perform their first live shows of 2024 in UK arenas as special guest to Alice Cooper, plus a major festival performance at Mexico City’s Corona Capital in November. Charged with their trademark cosmic energy, tickets for the shapeshifting band’s Australian dates will go on sale Friday 20 September (10am local time).
