With only months to go before global pop phenomenon Robbie Williams touches down in Australia and New Zealand for his anticipated XXV Tour, excitement is reaching fever pitch.
Announced today, fellow British singer-songwriter Gaz Coombes will join Robbie as a special guest on all Australian dates. A Mercury nominated solo performer who is also known for his work as front man of legendary Britpop band Supergrass, Gaz Coombes returns down under for the first time since 2018, when he performed sold out East Coast dates.
His solo show has been hailed as “captivating” by Clash Music, praising his “enticing live performance”. Playing a series of triumphant reunion Supergrass shows over the past couple of years, Gaz was watched from side stage by Billie Eilish at the band’s impressive Glastonbury set in 2022, and performed with Nile Rodgers, Foo Fighters, Stewart Copeland and Supergrass at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium.
Released earlier this year, Gaz Coombes’ fourth solo album, Turn The Car Around, received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. “Genial English rocker’s best album in 20 years… gorgeous, heartfelt new songs are intoxicating” – The Guardian (5 stars)
Last in the country a year ago for a truly iconic headline performance at the AFL Grand Final – which saw the superstar deliver a mind-blowing twenty-minute set of hit after hit – Robbie Williams well and truly reminded Australia that the hype is real, he is the ultimate showman and he’s here to entertain us all! He lands in Australia having just completed a huge run of European dates to incredible acclaim.
