Since the release of their double album earlier this month, Shag Rock have been featured across multiple Spotify playlists including New Music Friday AU/NZ and India, Rock Out, Indie Arrivals, and Local Noise, as well as receiving a string of four-star reviews on triple j Unearthed. A live video from their sold-out show at The Tivoli uploaded earlier this year showcases a glimpse of these born performers, making it obvious why the band are attracting so much attention, recently ticking over 40 million streams across their catalogue.
The release of Double Overhead also marked the occasion of Shag Rock receiving their first ARIA Certified Gold Record for their hit track ‘Sunbleached Girl’ off their 2017 debut album Barefoot. Since the release of their debut, Shag Rock have made their mark on the stage, touring the US and performing to multiple sold-out shows under their belt, as well as supporting powerhouses Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and The Rubens. With a number of shows close to selling out and considering Shag Rock’s previous sold-out Australian and New Zealand tours, a tip to fans is to swipe in early or miss out.
