In October 2013, seminal stoner/doom band, Sleep will play two sideshows in Sydney and Perth following their appearance at ATP’s Release The Bats, and the support acts to join them have now been revealed.
In Sydney, the experienced Summonus will capture the right tone of the night with their killer riffs and mixture of doom, sludge, stoner rock, crust punk and death metal. Since 2007 the band have shared the stage with the esteemed High on Fire, Mastodon, Baroness, Acid King, Black Cobra and Eagle Twin to name but a few.
In Sydney and Perth, WA doom blues four-piece The Devil Rides Out will play both shows. Having established themselves as “Perth’s premier exponents of balls’n’all rock’n’roll grit’n’grime” (The Drum Media) they have released an unholy trinity of EPs, a full-length, The Hearth & The Crown and their new EP just released last month, Ugly Creatures. They’ve previously played with the likes of Clutch, Nick Oliveri’s Mondo Generator, Monster Magnet and Winnebago Deal.
In Perth, Bayou will open proceedings with their unique Southern sludge. After releasing their debut self-titled album earlier this year, the band have been honing and refining their dirty blend of genres, tripped vibes and intense live performances via countless gigs since 2009.
