Central Coast-based party crew, Sounds Like a Nice Time, have just announced another instalment ‘House of Voodoo’, which will serve as their inaugural Halloween party – presented by Pilerats.
On the first announcement SLANT – House of Voodoo features an eclectic mix of forty-five established and emerging artists, including the likes of Cloud Control, Kilter, Remi, Yahtzel (DJ Set), Elk Road, Command Q and Motorik Vibe Council.
Headliners Cloud Control are one of Australia’s most celebrated and endearing modern-day artists. The three-piece boast a swag of accolades under their belt, namely for their debut LP Bliss Release; which received two ARIA nominations, a J award nomination and won the sixth annual Australian Music Prize. Their follow up and sophomore LP Dream Cave charted at #9 on the ARIA charts. The group have been recently working on new music and last toured on a sold out Australian run with Courtney Barnett in 2015.
Since exploding onto the scene a few years ago, Kilter has been at the forefront of the new wave of Australian electronic artists, extensively touring the country, playing all major festivals and wooing crowds with his infectious live show. Ahead of European summer festival appearances at the likes of TheSoundYouNeed in Malta, and Ephemere in Tunisia, as well as a national tour this month, 24-year-old Sydney musician, producer, writer and drummer, Kilter has just revealed his new single, ‘They Don’t Know Us’, which has been widely supported by local and worldwide tastemakers.
Ahead of his massive national tour in November and December, Melbourne hip-hop artist Remi and musical collaborator, Sensible J (collectively known as REMI) get ready to share their highly anticipated full-length album, Divas and Demons. Out on REMI’s imprint, House of Beige on September 16, the sixteen-track sophomore LP features the widely loved, triple j high-rotation singles ‘For Good’ featuring Sampa the Great, ‘Substance Therapy’, and the most recent single ‘Lose Sleep’ ft. Jordan Rakei. Remi is most known for his undeniable hit ‘Sangria’.
With his infectious tunes and knack for good humour, it’s no wonder that 22 year-old Yahtzel – aka Max Armata (one half of esteemed electronic act ARMADA) – has amassed a pseudo-cult following. He has been featured in Flume’s BBC6 radio mix and supported by Majestic Casual, TheSoundYouNeed and InTheMix via a top tracks of the year (2013). This catapulted him on onto Australian boutique tastemaker festivals including Listen Out, Falls Festival, Your Paradise (Fiji) as well as jumping on the international stages of Holy Ship! and national touring support for ODESZA.
Also performing will be upstarts Elk Road, Command Q, Motorik Vibe Council, Kato, Nocturnal Tapes and local crowd favourites Tropical Zombie, Elliot The Bull amongst a whole slew of outstanding locals.
