With shimmering guitars & floating melodies, Central Coast upstarts Sunsoli are releasing their new single ‘Time & Place’ on 19 July. Previously known as The Sea Gypsies, the band have gone through a period of renewal, wanting their name to reflect this growth. Combining ‘sun’ and ‘soil’, they settled on Sunsoli; a symbol of their coastal roots and musical harmony.
Alongside ‘Time & Place’, the band are also excited to announce their debut, self-titled album as Sunsoli due to be released in September. The band worked intricately together to craft a record that explores how light can play with emotions, set a time and place, or evoke a sense of nostalgia. Working with esteemed producer Jack Nigro (DMA’s, Middle Kids, Julia Jacklin) out of the iconic The Grove Studios (Silverchair, Ocean Alley, Violent Soho) in their hometown of the Central Coast, the band also combined with coastal singer-songwriter Ashrae to co-write and collaborate on a number of tracks. The record was then mastered by Darren Ziesing (Flume, The Presets, Lime Cordiale).
With an album in their back pockets, Sunsoli will also be performing a slew of East Coast album launch dates in celebration of its release. Across September – December, the band will be playing Wollongong, Canberra, Geelong, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Gosford & more, sharing stages with some of their favourite local acts & taking the opportunity to reach their fans one-on-one, sharing songs from ‘Sunsoli’ for the first time.
