Over the past week, Sycco has been announced in YouTube Music’s Foundry Class of 2021 (alongside Snail Mail and Junior Mesa amongst other global artists on the rise), scored not one but two separate Times Square (NYC) billboards for both Youtube and as the face of Spotify’s Equal Campaign, was named as Apple Music’s Up Next Artist and won the prestigious Levi’s Music Prize — and she’s only just getting started.
Sycco’s ascent only started in 2020 (mid-pandemic) but her drippy bops have already landed her in the pages of Vogue, NME, Billboard, Paper, Nylon, and Paste. Hotly tipped as one of the country’s most promising new artists, she’s amassed well over 17 million streams, sold out her debut headline tour, and performed (virtually) for SXSW, triple j’s Like A Version and KCRW. She’s partnered with Buscabulla, Tim Atlas and Oscar Scheller, landed at #29 triple j’s Hottest 100 (the highest ranked new artist in last year’s poll) with ‘Dribble’, which also won Song of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards, and picked up nominations at the AIR and NIMA Awards.
