Thelma Plum (Gamilaraay) has today released the official video to her ‘Clumsy Love’ single. The video was filmed recently on location in Melbourne with Thelma saying, “I honestly had the time of my life in Melbourne shooting this video. I spent two days with an incredible crew of talented womyn and these insanely wonderful dancers who make ‘Clumsy’ look so BEAUTIFUL. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it”
The official ‘Clumsy Love’ video was directed by the amazing Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, who has recently worked with the likes of Mojo Juju, Amy Shark and Kaiit, and also directed the incredibly important documentary Her Sound, Her Story, which celebrates the unique and diverse female talent within the Australian music industry.
When talking about ‘Clumsy Love’ Claudia said, “The dancers embody different facets of relationship, the soloist plays out the contrasting emotions Thelma is singing about, the duo is the relationship we keep with ourselves, and the couple is the push and pull dynamic of a relationship between a women and a man. I collaborated with choreographer Sela Vai to create the movement vocabulary for the clip, drawing inspiration from what it is to be clumsy both in face and body. We wanted the dance to be playful, curious and joyful too, expressing the importance of not taking ourselves so seriously in any relationship and in life in general.”
To coincide with the release of ‘Clumsy Love’, Thelma will hit the road on a national single tour.
