In the wake of their wildly successful 2015 headline tour, American alt-pop duo TWENTY ONE PILOTS will embark on their third and biggest Australian tour to date.
Twenty One Pilots have grown astronomically since the release of their self-titled LP and albums Vessel in 2013 and US #1 Blurryface in 2015. Rapidly graduating from club shows to main stage festival appearances, last year’s Blurryface Tour sold out and 2016 is seeing the band selling out arenas across the US.
Currently winding up a string of sold-out European dates, Twenty One Pilots return to Australia for all-ages shows in April – May, including a debut headline show in Perth as well as performances at Groovin’ the Moo.
In 2014 Twenty One Pilots’ Quiet is Violent Tour played an electrifying run of sold-out shows in support of their latest album, Blurryface (out now through Warner Music Australia). Peaking at #11 on the ARIA Albums Chart, Blurryface has sold more than 1,500,000 copies worldwide – hitting #1 on the US Billboard Top 200.
Now the band return with ‘Stressed Out’, one of their most intensely personal singles to date. Quickly achieving platinum status in the US and currently residing at #3 on the ARIA Singles Chart, ‘Stressed Out’ has already been streamed more than 130 million times through Spotify; its music video viewed more than 80 million. Like much of the pair’s catalogue, the single explores the existential airlock between adolescence and adulthood – a period defined by pressures old and new.
