If a magical mountain backdrop, golden fields, hay bales, epic tunes and watercolour skies hasn’t sold you on Party in the Paddock, then the new and sparkly Vibestown program will have you heading to the Apple Isle stat! A festival within a festival, Party in the Paddock’s notorious Vibestown is back with amazing art, hilarious comedy, myriad market stalls and all the wacky shiz you know and love.
PARTY IN THE PADDOCK 2019
Thursday 7, Friday 8 + Saturday 10 February
White Hills, Tasmania
(20 mins drive from Launceston)
Supersizing their art party this year, Party in the Paddock has teamed up with We’re All Going To Die mastermind Stefan Hunt to deliver Vibestown’s 2019 art program.
10 OUT OF 10 PEOPLE READING THIS WILL DIE. Scary? Stefan thinks the opposite. Using death to empower, WAGTD has produced sold out events around the world, a festival, book, and short film. Prepare to fear less and live more as you discover the WAGTD message in boundary-pushing interactive art around Vibestown at Party in the Paddock.
Head to the Paddock stage at 3:30pm on Saturday to catch the We’re All Going To Die short film. Through colour, imagination, humour and fart jokes, Stefan asks you to look at the what ifs, the why nots and the oh wells that might flash before your eyes when paid a surprise visit by Death. With your internal monologue played by Jared Jekyll and Death played by Hugo Weaving, get existential whilst grinning from ear to ear.
Disconnect to reconnect with REAL TALK, a collaborative art project between Tory Bauer & WAGTD. Instead of using down time to look at your social media, have a conversation with a stranger. We provide the questions and the magic happens. Curious? Come pull up a pew at the Good Times Church and dive into this experience head on! Real Talk is the perfect way to connect with friends, old and new, plus your conversation card doubles as a postcard! Exchange address’, and pop it in the Good Times Church’s mailbox, and we’ll post it for you.
What would your tombstone say? Not an easy question is it. Well stress less friends because the team at ‘We’re All Going To Die’ have given you a graveyard full of options to choose from. Drop by the Graveyard, located in Vibestown, and muse over your final words.
You’ve heard of marriages at festivals, but what about a funeral? Vibestown and WAGTD are teaming up to deliver a powerful ceremony… Are you ready to symbolically meet the end of a fear? Say thank you, next, to fear by lowering your Fear Card into an open grave in The Good Times Church’s Graveyard. Take part in the official ‘Funeral for Fears’ sermon at 3:45pm Saturday 9th.
Have you ever seen, or participated in the notorious Vibestown March? This opulent parade begins at Vibestown and features the many characters of the Paddock! Currently taking the title for the biggest conga line in the Southern Hemisphere, everyone is invited to join the march and get a little weird. Leave your self-doubts at home, bring your favourite party kit and you do you baby! The 2019 march will feature some top secret, special guests. It’s the year to jump aboard, toot toot!
Grab a Bloody Mary and head to the Vibestown Stage from 9am onwards each day to catch kickass music and comedy! The comedy lineup features your faves Matt Okine and Gen Fricker, alongside a crew of bloody hilarious local stand-up comedians.
Confessions of the Cooked also returns to The Good Church to bring you tons of off the cuff and unfiltered LOLs from anyone who dares take to the Altar.
From mental health awareness to slam poetry and hot topics tackled by local politicians, Talk in the Paddock is back for another year! Vibestown will play host to an array of guest speakers that are ready to tackle those BIG conversations. Stay tuned for more information on TITP!
Reflect on last night’s shenanigans and keep it zen with some morning yoga, taking place each morning at 8am in Vibestown.
But if that ain’t enough VIBEZ! There’s all of the usual unusualness that Vibestown has in high supply, including: Morning Cocktails & Funk DJs at the Willie Smith’s Bar, The VT Skate Feature, mechanical bulls, vintage clothing stalls, haircuts/trims, award winning food & local Tassie produce, merch, eco glitter, and loads of Paddock magic!
