[News] THE WILDBLOODS ANNOUNCE ALBUM TOUR & RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘RED BOX’

After completing several East Coast tours throughout 2014 and early 2015, riding the wave of their successful self titled EP, Sydney 4-piece The Wildbloods have since returned to hit the road again, this time to celebrate their forthcoming album All the Adversity and new single ‘Red Box’.

‘Red Box’ is one of the heavier tracks on the new album and draws its influences from modern rock bands like Catfish And The Bottlemen and The Strokes. The track was also a bit of an experiment inspired by their producer Daniel Antix (Modern Baseball, Gay Paris) as the band explain – “Daniel suggested that Johnny sing this particular song with a bit more aggression, rasp and ‘oomph’ especially towards the end of the track when everything is building. At first, we were a bit reluctant on the idea but after a few listens back we realised that not only did this give the song the energy that it needed, but it also gave the album a bit more depth. This song went from being one of our least favourite tracks to one of our favourites.”

Named after the Italian proverb that states Southern Italians have ‘Wild Blood’, the European/Australians channel the likes of The Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and Catfish And The Bottlemen. An upbeat yet sincere indie rock ballad, the album displays front-man Johnny Wildblood’s clean Aussie twang and lyricism, delicately wrapped in a tortilla-like bundle of soaring harmonies, slick guitar riffs and searing drum fills. The result is a refreshingly energetic album that fans have welcomed with open arms.

‘Red Box’ will be released on Friday 7th of April, and is a glimpse into The Wildbloods’ forthcoming album due for release on May 19. Building upon their EP, their debut album delves into similar themes but peers through a darker perspective, focusing on the deeper aspects of life.
