UK indie smashers Yard Act return to Australia this November, in support of their acclaimed new album Where’s My Utopia.
Tuesday November 12 | Factory Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday November 13 | Croxton Bandroom, Melbourne
Thursday November 14 | Triffid, Brisbane
Sunday November 17 | Freo.Social, Perth
The Overload, Yard Act’s breakout 2022 debut album, catapulted the Leeds quartet to fame, earning a Mercury Prize nomination, a #2 debut on the British charts and nods from Hayley Williams, Fugazi, and Beck himself. Elton John even jumped on the bandwagon, joining them on a string-laden reworking of the album closer “100% Endurance.”
In March this year, Yard Act released their second album Where’s My Utopia on Island Records. Written in snapshots of time between a relentless touring schedule, and produced jointly by the band and Gorillaz’ Remi Kabaka Jr, the quartet’s second act is a giant leap forward into broad and playful new sonic waters. Influenced by Fela Kuti, Ennio Moricone, and Spiller’s ‘00s pop smash ‘Groovejet,’ the album’s celebratory soundscape delves deeper into personal themes, blending profound reflections with humor and illustrating the complexities of human existence through a cheeky, Promethean narrative.
Currently in the midst of an enormous run of shows across Europe and the UK, the band will head to the US and Canada before hitting Aussie shores in November.
